    Default Scruffy

I've never seen this owl before. He may be offspring from the pair that had nested nearby in previous years, or from a new pair. Hopefully I'll be able to get more shots of him, but he does look scruffy now.

I got a few more shots of him tonight. He (or she, who really knows but I refuse to refer to an owl as "it") still hasn't given me any clear openings, perhaps next time.

While I was out I also saw a group of about 6 MS Kites soaring over Sherrill Park headed NW toward 75 & PGBT:

This is a first year Barred Owl from a nest in the area but he still has some more feathers to grow around his face. I just hadn't seen this one before. In previous years I've been able to find local Barred Owlets by May, but not this year.
