View Full Version : Bald Eagle
I took this photo this morning returning from an errand. It is not a good photo due to distance and overcast skies. Just though it might be of interest due to it's location.....very near the Kaufman/Hunt county line. Not that far from Dallas.

Wow! Excellent!
Thanks, Maestro. I have been trying since November to get a close in opportunity of a Bald Eagle....in good light. Still trying.

I know what you mean Vern. I went down to Llano, Texas to see the eagles there and also at Lake Buchanan near Burnet. The weather was horrific. Freezing rain, rain, windy, cloudy. My shots did not turn out very well at all. I want to go back to try to get some better pics of the eagles.
Those are pretty miserable conditions, Maestro.
Another location might be Purtis Creek State Park. The Ranger there told me there was 1-2 Bald Eagles that usually are there in winter. I have not had a chance to go back and check that out.
Here are a couple more of Eagles, taken at Lake Fork back in early December. The one of the pair was taken from the boat ramp on the south end of the 154 bridge. They were perched in the tallest tree at the Egret rookery......pretty good distance. The solitary one was taken inside the SRA park on the north end of the bridge. It was closer to the fishing pier and I was on the road on the south side, still a little far for a good photo.

Pretty nice. I need to head over to Lake Fork and the Lake Palestine area to see what I can stir up. :)
