Jay Lorch passed this on to me. The padlock to the enterance to the DCAs property had been lost. Jay and Julius Nussbaum replaced it Saturday. The property next to the Audubon prperty has been rented from Bobby Graves by a couple named Willl and Ann Parks. They apparetnly told Jay that they didn't have a problem with birders entering and seemed to be happy have them. The last couple of times that I have walked the Audubon proprety I noticed that several trees fell during the controllled burn and from the flooding rains. Lots of the area takes long legs, patience and lots of time to navigate. The grasses are very luxuriant now and the place is very green. I have seen several Painted Buntings and Dickcissels around. But the trails need to opened up. Becuase I have birded it some much I know how to try and get around on it. But recent flooding rains have made even that next to impossible. It has ben many years since it has been so full and that is a good thing to see again. Can't wait to see how the place looks this fall. If the mosqutioes let us get out there.
