Here's a website that will get you the GPS coordinates of a site, its area and perimeter, or even the length of a distance you walked or drove:
http://itouchmap.com/latlong.html
Input an address (can be a street intersection) to get the GPS coordinates. If necessary, click on the red marker to get a bubble giving the coordinates. Warning -- if you try to copy them, you get the entire bubble, not just the numbers.
For places that have no street address or intersection that would be accepted by this map tool, you can drag the red marker to someplace like, say, Texas, then alternately zoom in a notch (using that bar full of hash marks on the left) and move the marker until you've got it pretty much where you want it. Then click on hybrid so you can get a bird's eye view of the place and zoom in again if necessary until you get the red marker where you want it. Then click on it to get the GPS coordinates.
Click on the Land Plat Size link (which will open up a new window on your location for you to use) and then click points around the perimeter of the location to get the tool to calculate either the area or the length of the perimeter for you (select the appropriate radio button on the right to switch between area and perimeter or distance). Click points along a path you traveled or road you drove to get the tool to calculate the distance you traveled.
The tool I used for area calculation before I found this one is the Google Planimeter, but area is all it calculates:
