Birding Basics: a collection of threads

Here's a link to a post that contains links to a collection of Birding Basics threads on the Birder's World website. I wrote a good deal of that material and considered copying it over to here, but it's easier to maintain the collection in one place and simply provide a link to it here. There are some good tips for beginning birders and some collections of links to info on the net, like bird song collections and reference material.

Just updated the original BW post on bird research websites to add a link to the more recent articles in The Auk (which I came across while googling fossil birds) -- the LookSmart website picks up on The Auk a couple of years before SORA leaves off, so now there's complete coverage (hurrah!): http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa3793
